Not strictly chemistry - but fun and useful!

This hits my other love - power tools!

Cooking with Power tools: Stuffed Zucchini

Makes coring a zucchini or any other veggie a bit easier.
Part of the "Duh! why didn't I think of that!" category.

Molecular gastronomy is bringing constant temperature baths, vaccuum sealers and many other "power tools" into the kitchen...

  1. Love the idea in theory, but this honestly makes me cringe because I'm pretty sure the average home cook (even professional cooks), myself included, would run the risk of drilling through their hand....
If I had the choice, I'd like a lyophilizer in my kitchen, and maybe a rotovap.

  2. You could easily wrap the vegetables in a silicon mat to keep from scratching yourself. I have a drill press - perhaps it would work better??
